Banning's Mill and Crossing 

Banning’s Mill and Crossing was established in 1876 by the Banning brothers along the Big Sioux River, where they built a grist mill that became a hub for early settlers. Over the years, the site gained local fame for its ill‑fated bridges and the mysterious “Sioux Sea Serpent” sighting of 1887.
